OFF THE CLOCK
Scott has led and participated in a wide variety of project teams designing and planning federal, municipal and private water and wastewater facilities across the country. His project experience ranges from large multi-billion-dollar capital programs providing drinking water, wastewater and reclaimed water improvements to hundreds of thousands of customers, as well as small on-call assignments to assist maintenance staff to troubleshoot, repair and optimize aging facilities. His focus on communication and attention to detail have resulted in an unblemished record of successful project management across a wide variety of disciplines, including water, wastewater, stormwater and fuel conveyance, remediation, flood control, civil site development, and alternative energy.
I come from a family of teachers, artists and engineers who have taught me to place a high value on continuous learning and creativity. My specialty is planning and designing water, wastewater and stormwater conveyance infrastructure, with a fondness for multidisciplinary projects such as pump stations. Every infrastructure project requires unique solutions and presents new opportunities to expand my knowledge of the water business, and I have found this work fascinating. Curiosity has also led me into many interesting projects in related disciplines such as in-conduit hydroelectric generation, alternative fuel production, soil and groundwater remediation, and petroleum storage and supply. Some of the best innovations come from leveraging solutions from different industries in creative new ways, and I have drawn on my breadth of experience to uniquely add value for municipal clients, coworkers, stakeholders and ratepayers.
I decided to join WSC because I saw the opportunity to be a part of a growing company that mirrors my core values. I consider every client a partner, each with unique needs and priorities that must be clearly understood, and understanding that success depends on clear communication, trust, and mutual support.
Similar to my professional career, I also strive to be the best father and husband that I can be, and enjoy coming up with new ways to explore the Pacific Northwest with my wife and son. We love getting outdoors and trying new things together, whether it is floating a river in a kayak, sliding down a volcano on a snowboard, or playing disc golf beneath the Douglas Firs. I’m also a basketball fanatic, and love playing or watching whenever I can.
